You will find in the sanctuary a bowl of blue stones from which you are invited to take one, representing a concern or an area of guidance in which you seek God's help. Carry it with you, reminding you to pray, and when God answers, bring the stone back and place it in the jar on the altar. New Wednesday Morning Women's Bible Study! September 15th through October 27th (7 weeks) from 9-11 AM we will host the Beth Moore Bible Study, "When Godly People Do Ungodly Things." In this biblical guide to authentic repentance and restoration, Beth examines why devoted followers of Jesus Christ can fall into the traps of Satan. Each member book is $14. Altar Flowers 2010 Would you like to provide Altar or Pedestal Flowers? The 2010 Altar Flower list has been posted on the bulletin board outside the office door. With meditations written by readers from around the world, the daily devotional guide is a perfect companion for individual and family devotional time. Haiti Relief Update - Updated 1/20/10

There are many ways to join in the relief efforts for Haiti but giving through our connectional system with UMCOR is one of the best! UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief) has a 4 STAR rating from Charity Navigator and is one of the only organizations working in Haiti to have an A+ rating from the American Institute of Philanthropy.

You can help by sending monetary donations or by providing supplies for health or layette kits. For monetary donations, make your checks payable to our church, GC UMC, with "UMCOR Advance #418325" in the memo line. 100% of your donation goes directly for relief.

With the health and layette kits, you don't need to make up complete kits. Any or all quantities of supplies listed below are welcome. Just please be sure that all items are new. Items may be brought to the church for delivery to the MMDC.

1 Hand Towel (not finger-tip or kitchen size)
1 Wash Cloth
1 Comb (regular size, not pocket size, no rat-tail combs, no barber combs, no piks; Suggestion-Little Goody 2 Pack)
1 Fingernail Clipper (no files or emery boards)
1 Bar of Soap (3 oz. or larger in original wrapper)
1 Adult Toothbrush (in original wrapper) (no multiple packs please)
1 Tube of Toothpaste (4.5 oz or larger, in original wrapper. Check expiration dates-must be at least ONE YEAR ahead.)
6 Adhesive Bandages (Band-aids; no pictures, regular size.)
